Snow!  Snow!  Snow!  Winter Retreat is almost here!!!  Big Bear in the last series of storms received over 60 inches of snow and is expected to receive some more snow over the next two weeks.  This will be a great year of snow play and snowboarding (skiing for the old school rats like me!).

The theme of teaching this year is

not one that is widely looked forward to.  Its a theme that makes some cringe and the sedists excited.  The theme is 'sin'...what is it, what is it's effect, and what do we do about it.  Our speaker is Tim Storey.  Tim is a part of the youth staff at Saint Andrews Presbyterian in Newport Beach.

The cost is $85 and that includes food, housing, speaker, and supplies.  If you would like to snowboard or ski, there is an additional cost for the ticket and rentals if needed. We go to Snow Summit for the Sunday night session.  The cost per ticket for 13-21 year olds is $32 (over 21 is $42) and the rentals are $25.  If planning on going to the ski park, the student will need a filled out permission form found on the Bear Mountain website at http://www.snowsummit.com/forms/TicketLessonReleaseWaiverAgmt.pdf.

The only extra cost would be spending money for a snack on the way up and the way down the mountain.  We will meet at 12pm on Friday, February 12 and then return around 3pm on Monday, February 15.

For what to bring, check out the actual dates of the trip on the 'Encounter Calendar."
